Works in Clay
Clay is family, friends, time, work, joy, sorrow, love, hate. All the passions of the world rolled into a lump of clay. It doesn’t matter if you throw it, or roll it, or pull it into the shape of your dreams, clay is magic.
As a beginner we all struggle with centering, and then like magic it just happens. Over the years I have taken many classes. Learning to throw, hand build, raku, glaze, electric and gas fire, each with that special nugget of information that makes your working with the clay easier, and better.
Now the clay does what I want it to do (most of the time), yet leads me to want more from it. I love the way it feels in my hand. My flower vases with ruffled edges look almost alive. I’m never quite sure how that happens. The clay seems to know the way, and in the end the finished product, and the JOY.
