Statement
I am art, a figurative painter from Media, PA, exploring human connection, memory, and the quiet poetry of everyday life through texture and color. My earliest memories trace back to my childhood in Tbilisi, Georgia, where I was surrounded by the paintings of my mother and grandfather. Their influence shaped my understanding of beauty, expression, and the emotional depth that painting can hold.
I hold a master’s degree in fine art, supported by formal studies at the Nikoladze Art School and the Academy of Fine Arts in Tbilisi. Working primarily with a palette knife, I use the interplay of texture and tone to evoke intimacy and emotional resonance. My work has been exhibited internationally and recognized with several awards, including the Edgar A. Thomson Juror’s Award.
Beyond painting, I am also the author of a biographical book and the creator of trademarked wine labels, expanding my artistic voice into literary and commercial design. For more than two decades, I have taught oil painting and drawing at the Community Arts Center, guiding students as they discover their own creative language.
Painting remains my way of capturing what cannot be spoken — the warmth of a moment, the emotional landscape beneath the visible world. My work centers on the subtle choreography of human connection: the pauses, gestures, and rhythms that shape relationships. Through this focus, I translate everyday encounters into a deeply personal and expressive visual narrative.
