South Media Fire Companyimage (3)

Beginning in 2013, the Community Arts Center began an afterschool art program in partnership with the Fire Station that focuses on collaborative, community-based art projects. Students in grades 3-5 from the Wallingford Elementary school that live in the South Media neighborhood meet once a week afterschool to create artworks such as mosaic stepping stones for their school’s garden and a mural for the Fire Station. The best thing about this program is that the kids get to use an empty fire truck bay as an art studio!
