Erica Ball

Hailed by music critic Kyle Gann as a “precociously interesting composer”, Erica Ball’s works have been heard across the country in Chicago, Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. Her music has been performed by numerous ensembles including the Da Capo Chamber Players, Colorado Quartet, Arneis Quartet, pianist Blair McMillen, International Contemporary Ensemble, and the American Symphony Orchestra.  Erica received her PhD in music composition from the University of Pennsylvania, and her BA in music from Bard College.  In addition to her work as a composer, Erica remains active as a violinist, pianist, and educator, with a special interest in bringing contemporary music to new audiences.  She teaches at multiple Philadelphia area institutions and maintains a private teaching studio.  For more information please visit
